Don’t worry – the Black Widow slot is not about lethal spiders. It takes on the metaphorical connotations and refers to the scheming women, the femme fatale type if you will.

Developed by IGT, Black Widow video slot introduces a character of a mysterious, seductive, charming woman as well as several of her lovers. These women are referred to as black widows because they chose their victims carefully, they have them entangled in their web of intrigue and, ultimately, they ruin their lives by leading them into dangerous, often deadly situations.

It may seem like an unusual theme for an online slot, but the results are quite satisfying. IGT has managed to produce a slot game with a compelling backstory and intriguing characters – a real treat for fans of crime and noir.

Aside from spider webs in the corners of the screen, there is no other reference to these crawling creatures – the background shows wallpaper with a floral design and the reel grid is set inside a picture frame as if it were hanging on the wall.

There is a bit of a gothic, gloomy feel about the game, but you wouldn’t say it falls into the horror category. There are 5 reels of symbols and 40 pay lines that are fixed and active throughout. Standard playing card symbols represent the lower value icons, each with a small detail like a cigar, or a candlestick.

Character symbols include three men, apparently rich businessman the black widow has the intention to trick and get her hands on of their wealth. She is the highest paying symbol in the base game and you can see her holding a mysterious potion.

The Black Widow logo is the Wild, and there is also a bonus symbol represented by the green potion vial. The game includes the Autospin option and the possibility to adjust your line bet before spinning the reels. The soundtrack is eerie and dramatic at times, so it fits the atmosphere well.
