Volts and Bolts Slot Overview
This good-looking game is multi-branded because it’s a team effort from Scientific Games, Barcrest and WMS. Don’t worry, the corporate shenanigans of the gaming industry needn’t worry the end user – though, in time you might want to keep an eye on who owns whom – who can look at an exciting experience with this five-reeler themed around mad scientists of the Frankenstein variety.
Facts and Figures
Five reels then, as is standard, and three rows too for the usual 15-symbol playing area.
The game offers a 95.63% theoretical RTP. This is not at the top end of the current range but is certainly acceptable, and you should remember that this is a very long-term and not a very precise measure. The Volts and Bolts slot game is rated as having medium variance.
Volts and Bolts Slot: Looks
This game very much takes its cue from animated family movies to create a steampunk fantasy world of crazy scientists and twisted labs. The symbols revolve on wooden lab shelves, and test tubes and flasks bubble away in the background. The star is a grey-haired doc, complete with the enormo forehead as required by the law of stereotypes.
It’s a good looking game, with smooth animations, and it’s clear and obvious how everything works. The controls are minimal and easy to understand – two buttons only – with toggles along the outside frame of the main game screen.
Beyond a fairly standard base game, Volts and Bolts has wilds and respins and scatters and bonus symbols that trigger a free spins round.
The Robot symbol triggers a Robot Lock It Link feature. Six symbols set it off, and you’ll get five respins with the robot locked in place. As more robots appear during the respins they can rack up a bonus win of up to 750-times stake for between 12 or 15 robot symbols.
The Mad Scientist (with apologies to actual scientists who are labelled in this way) is a scatter that triggers the Free Spin Round. Three, four, or five Scatters win you 12 free spins and 2, 15 or 100 times stake as a prize.
The lower ranked symbols are a run of jacks to aces, and they all pay, 5-times stake, 10-times stake, and 50-times stake for three, four, and five respectively.
The top paying symbols are a science book (5, 20, and 100-times stake), a spanner (5, 25, and 150-times), a voltmeter (the same), a brain (5, 30, and 200-times), and the game logo, paying from two of a kind: 2-times, 10, 50, and 250-times.
The Final Verdict
Get down to the lab now to create a new life – and perhaps very big wins – with this game. If you’re looking for a way to spend some entertaining time at your favourite casino then the excellent graphics and rewarding gameplay of Volts and Bolts are winners in our opinion.
